Swim takes third, fifth in Kalispell

The Bulldogs got a strong start to the season with third and fifth place finishes at the Kalispell Invite on Saturday.

The boys team finished fifth overall in the meet, while the girls took third behind CM Russell and Missoula Hellgate.

Ada Qunell was the overall champion in the 200 individual medley, while Helena Kunz took second in the 200 freestyle.

Whitefish’s 200 medley relay took third and the 400 freestyle relay second.

On the boys side, the 400 freestyle relay took third and the 200 medley relay fifth.

Nicholas Starling was the top individual swimmer, taking third in the 200 freestyle, followed closely by Logan Botner in fourth.

Botner also took fifth in the 500 freestyle, and Kelvin Dicks took sixth in the 100 backstroke and eighth in the 100 butterfly.

The team has a week off before their next competition, which comes on Dec. 21 at Great Falls.
