Flathead Valley Ski Education Foundation racers were on the road for the past two weekends, competing first at the Big Sky Speed Series on Feb. 9-10, then at Missoula Snowbowl on Feb. 16-17.

The U14-U19 competitors at the Big Sky Super G races were blessed with great snow conditions but cold temperatures.

FVSEF Skiers found success in all three races, with a young girls team showing well against a seasoned girls field, and the U14 and U16 boys capturing 10 of 18 podium spots available.

In Big Sky, the boys had a number of top-five finishes.

Tyler Anderson and Colin Harper took second and third in race one and first and third in race two in U16 competition. In U14, Broderick Kneeland took first and second in the two races, while Wyatt Breck took fourth both races.

Harper and Anderson switched places for first and third on Sunday, while Christen Lund snuck in for first in U14.

On the girls side, Addison Bahr was the top U14 finisher, taking eighth and tenth in her races.

In Missoula, U19 racer Colter Upton notched a pair of seconds and a third in his slalom races.

Anderson took a first, second and eighth, while Colin Harper racked up a pair of firsts.

Both weekends of racing were part of the nationwide U.S. Ski & Snowboard Association Series within the Northern Division of USSA. The Northern Division includes all of Montana and parts of Wyoming and South Dakota. The events were qualifying races for Regional Championships to be held in March.
