Lucy Ridgeway and Kaiah Moore rise up to block a Polson spike at the net during last Tuesday’s sweep of the Lady Pirates at home.

The Lady Bulldogs got a clean sweep of Polson in their home opener last week.

Whitefish dominated the Lady Pirates 25-14, 25-20, 25-14 in the Northwest A Conference matchup.

Kaiah Moore led the way at the net with 11 aces and 12 kills for the Lady Dogs, and Jasmine Matern led the defense with 10 digs.

On Saturday the Lady Dogs added another sweep, this time over Stillwater Christian.

Schulz had 12 of 21 team assists and two service aces in the game. Moore recorded seven kills and seven digs, while Matern had two service aces and Marlee Bender had three blocks.

Head coach Addy Connelly said she was most impressed with the team’s performance against the Lady Pirates.

“They looked pretty good against Polson. They were crisp and clean and took care of business. Against Stillwater we were a little flat but we still took care of business out there,” she said. “Overall we’re heading in the right direction.”

This week Whitefish will get another crack at Libby, who bested them last month in Libby.

That match will be played Thursday night at Whitefish High School at 7:15 p.m.

“They’re a tough team. They play big at the net, they’ve got some tall girls. They have an intimidation factor so we just have to come in strong and be confident in what we’re doing and take care of business on our side of the net,” Connelly said.
