Tournament June 17

The Annual Bulldog Open will be held on Father’s Day, June 11, with the same format as in past years. Entry forms will be available soon in the Golf Shop so register your team for this fun event that raises money to support the Norby Foundation Junior Golf Program. The four-person scramble format will feature the usual multitude of prizes for various flights and both a luncheon and evening BBQ for members and guests. Call 862-5960 or stop in the Golf Shop to register. Register for either the morning or afternoon sessions for this fun-filled event.

Trees to be planted

The course will be planting trees in the next few weeks to replace the ones that did not survive the Highway 93 construction due to root disturbance. The new trees will be planted in locations that are out of play and will include a variety of species to our golf course forest.

Membership rates

If you are an interested golfer we would like to remind you that our annual membership rates will increase as to June 1st for returning members. First time members can still take advantage of the “early season” rates until June 1.

Stay in your Posture

Most beginners and high handicappers have one common fault — they tend to not stay in their posture during the swing. Players will set up properly, in an athletic position, but then come out of that posture during the backswing making solid contact nearly impossible. You should feel as though you are merely turning around your spine and not rising up on the back swing and coming back down on the forward swing. Think of maintaining the same spine angle until after impact, when your arms move through the swing and you move to your finish position.

Member discount card

Don’t forget to purchase the new member discount card in the Golf Shop. This offer is much like the Drink Card for the restaurant where you pay $100 up front, which you can then use to make purchases, but it also gets you access to special discounts on merchandise in the Golf Shop. So if you are going to purchase in shop this becomes a no-brainer and a great member benefit.
