The Lady Dogs huddle up after a point against Stevensville on Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs are firing on all cylinders after sweeping Polson and Stevensville last week.

On Tuesday Whitefish took down Northwest A conference opponent Polson 25-9, 25-9, 25-22.

Cailyn Ross led the team in kills with nine, and Becca Catina recorded 26 of the team’s 31 assists. Marlee Bender added seven kills and two blocks.

Whitefish brought more of the same to their homecoming matchup against Stevensville on Thursday, winning 25-18, 25-18, 25-21.

Ross led in kills again with 14, with Lauren Schulz adding 12 of her own. Catina finished with 21 of the team’s 30 assists and Serena Hemingson and Kennedy Grove combine for 19 digs.

“We took care of business in three sets in each game,” head coach Addy Connelly said. “I’m proud of the girls for getting it done.”

This week Whitefish travels to Columbia Falls for a Thursday-night rivalry match. On Saturday they’ll head down to Butte for the Blockbuster Tournament, and they’ll wrap up regular season play at home with Senior Night against Ronan on Tuesday.

“It’s the big rivalry against Columbia Falls so we’re just going to focus on taking care of what we can control,” Connelly said.

Connelly added that the Butte tournament will be a good chance to scope out potential divisional and state opponents.

“It is nice that it’s just Class A, it just lets us see who we could see in divisionals and at state. It’ll be nice to see those teams we don’t see a whole lot,” she said.
