Fire Restrictions apply

at Course

Flathead County has enacted Stage II fire restrictions and the city has issued a fire advisory as a result of the fire danger from the long drought and heat wave. In compliance with these restriction golfers are asked not to smoke other than on hard surfaces and to exercise caution when driving off the cart path in rough areas, especially in gas powered carts. These restrictions will stay in place until the city/county change their policy.

From 4th of July to

Canadian PGA Tour

Kramer Hickok won the Whitefish Lake Golf Club’s Fourth of July Tournament a couple of years ago before turning professional, and just this week finished in top 25 in a Canadian Tour tournament. This speaks to the quality of player that is attracted to the field of the Fourth of July. In the early Fourth of July Tournaments it was called an “Open” so professionals were eligible to play and did so in the Championship Flight.

Club Championship

Aug. 5-6

The 2017 Club Championship is scheduled for this coming weekend with play on the South Course on Saturday and the North on Sunday. Play by non-tournament players will be allowed before and after the tournament each day. An evening barbecue will follow the rounds on Sunday as part of the awards ceremony. Champions will be crowned in Mens, Ladies, Senior, super Senior (over 70) and junior divisions. WHS players that are members are encouraged to participate.

Member/Guest Aug. 19-20

Members interested in playing in this year’s member/guest tournament are encouraged to register as soon as possible for this outstanding event as it is filling quickly. This year the practice rounds on Friday, Aug. 18 will be included in the entry fee. Expect great prizes, food and fellowship with your fellow members and guests. The first day is a two person team best net ball while day two is a modified Stapleford format where you must earn points based on your handicap. Super seniors may play the “gold tees” if their handicap and age combines for more than 80, but an adjustment will be made to handicaps based on tee use.
