Fourth Galleries Welcome

The Fourth of July Tournament offers great opportunities to watch some excellent players perform. Play begins on Thursday this week and wraps up on Saturday afternoon. Both the men’s and women’s flights include some excellent players who could win the tournament and post some impressive scores. Derby play on Thursday for women and Friday for men is also a great spectator event with a two person team format. Play will reopen for non-tournament play later on Saturday afternoon. Call the Golf Shop for specific information at 862-5960.

New Tees on No.7 and 13 South

The next scheduled course improvements for Whitefish Lake Golf Club will be on the South Course with an expanded upper level “white” tee on hole 7 of the South. A new forward tee will also be added to No. 13 South and will be built just in front of the existing cart path. These new tees will complete a four-year project of adding the forward tees for seniors and ladies and adjusting the length of the course to a more appropriate yardage as recommended by the USGA. I would add, based on comments, that this may be one of the most appreciated and valuable projects we have completed in years. The new cart path on hole 5 of the North Course should be completed this week and ready for use. We would ask that players be extra sensitive to the new sod and avoid driving on it for a couple of weeks.
